Ford (F) Could Resume Dividend Payment 'Far Sooner' Than Market Expects -Morgan Stanley
Following comments from Ford's (NYSE: F) CFO Lewis Booth last month that the automaker is still a "ways off" from returning to investment grade and paying a dividend, analysts at Morgan Stanley are arguing otherwise this morning. The firm predicts that with Ford's product lineup and demand in the auto market improving recently, the automaker could generate about $28 billion in free cash flow by 2015. Such a move would cause agencies to upgrade their credit ratings on the automaker, and, in turn, Ford would likely announce the resumption of its dividend payment "far sooner" than the market is currently pricing in.
