This list was put together because some people did not find the yields on my prior recession wish list meaningful enough.
This list is certainly more suited to someone closer to retirement (or in retirement) who requires a much higher yield in the present.
A couple of weeks ago, I published an article titled 18 Stocks That I Hope To Buy During The Next Market Sell-Off. This article garnered a lot of attention and feedback, and it was obvious to me that this type of article/thinking about a correction resonated with readers. Well, now that the market has started to experience a bit of negative volatility, I wanted to double down on this notion.
I think it's great that so many readers were passionate about the idea of a recession wish list. It's fairly clear to me that we're operating in an overvalued market, and with that in mind, it makes a lot of sense for investors to be making correction plans. As a rather conservative, value-oriented investor, I am certainly hesitant to put large sums of cash to work when the market is hitting all-time highs, and the major indexes are carrying forward price-to-earnings ratios that are well above historical averages.
I continue to re-invest my dividends selectively every month to ensure that I am growing my passive income streak; however, when it comes to my cash position, I'm much more inclined to take profits and increase my cash weighting these days than I am to be aggressive in the markets.
