Despite the U.S. market trading in red, several companies declared their future dividend plans. Some notable dividend payers are discussed here. Macy's Inc. (NYSE: M) doubled its quarterly dividend to 10 cents per share, payable on July 1, 2011 to shareholders of record on June 15, 2011. Shares gained 7.29 percent, or $1.97, to trade at $28.29. Shares of Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC) added 2.28 percent, or 53 cents, to trade at $23.56 as it raised its quarterly dividend by 16 percent to 21 cents per share. Shares of NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) fell 0.34 percent, or 7 cents, to trade at $20.24 despite declaring a quarterly common dividend of 23 cents per share. The dividend is payable on August 19, 2011 to shareholders of record on July 29, 2011. Timken Co. (NYSE: TKR) declared a quarterly cash dividend of 20 cents per share, payable on June 2, 2011 to shareholders of record on May 20, 2011. However, shares were down 1.49 percent, or 80 cents, to trade at $53.05. Quad/Graphics Inc. (NYSE: QUAD) announced a regular dividend of 20 cents per share, payable on June 10, 2011 to shareholders of record on May 27, 2011. Shares added 0.22 percent, or 9 cents, to trade at $41.80. 3M Co. (NYSE: MMM) shares fell 0.11 percent, or 11 cents, to trade at $95.62 although it declared a dividend of 55 cents per share. The dividend is payable on June 12, 2011 to shareholders of record on May 20, 2011. Nelnet Inc. (NYSE: NNI) raised its quarterly dividend by 43 percent to 10 cents per share. Shares fell 0.78 percent, or 18 cents, to trade at $23.01. Provident Financial Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: PROV) declared a quarterly dividend of 1 cents per share, payable on June 24, 2011 to shareholders of record on May 27, 2011. Shares were trading at $8.05 with zero percent change on its last close. HNI Corp.
