This week several companies made their shareholders happy by giving them a raise in cash dividends:
Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. (NYSE: FGP) distributes and sells propane and related equipment and supplies primarily in the United States. August 20th the company increased its quarterly dividend 2.5% to $0.51 per share. The dividend is payable September 14, 2015 to stockholders of record on September 7, 2015, with an ex-dividend date of September 2, 2015. The yield based on the new payout is 9.8%.
Brinker International, Inc. (NYSE: EAT) owns, develops, operates, and franchises casual dining restaurants worldwide. As of June 24, 2015, it owned, operated, or franchised 1,629 restaurants, including 1,580 restaurants under the Chili's Grill & Bar brand; and 49 restaurants under the Maggiano's Little Italy name. August 20th the company increased its quarterly dividend 14% to $0.32 per share. The dividend is payable September 24, 2015 to stockholders of record on September 4, 2015, with an ex-dividend date of September 2, 2015. The yield based on the new payout is 2.4%.
