Is There A Best Dividend Contender To Invest In Today?

Recently I wrote an article titled What Is the Best Dividend Champion to Invest in Today? (Link Here). I do not know if it was people taking a break from their families at Thanksgiving or not, but the article received more page views than I thought. In light of the interest, I decided to follow the same methodology, but for the list of Contenders instead. (List Here)As we all know, in this market it is hard to find stocks that fit every one of our portfolio rules. I set up my rules a year ago (here) and have since had limited luck finding anything that meets the qualifications. I took a step back and thought about the problem differently. What if instead of applying my rules, I limited the universe to only dividend contender and then each month selected the best qualifying stock from that list to research? The idea is to select the one stock I would research if I were forcing myself to pick one name that worked for me.MethodologyUsing this method it forced me to apply my portfolio rules in a linear fashion based on what I considered to be the most important to the least important.
